Birth From Above | A Collection of Our Favorite Overhead Birth Photographs
Here in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, we have an abundance of birthplaces for our birth doula and birth photography clients to choose from. Not only does the Twin Cities have dozens of hospitals and a handful of fantastic birth centers, but we also have several wonderful homebirth midwives who work in the area. We are fortunate to have such a progressive environment in which to be pregnant, give birth, and adjust to life as a parent while rediscovering ourselves in our postpartum time. This wide variety of wonderful Minnesota birthplaces gives us plenty of opportunities to be creative while we are preserving the once-in-a-lifetime moments that occur at births. One of our very favorite angles to capture, one that we revisit time and time again, is a shot of birth from above. Whether we are preserving a bit of labor, delivery, or those beautiful first moments with your baby in your arms, there’s something so special about capturing this overhead perspective.
