These are the words Taylor used to describe Abram’s birth. As a friend, I admire Taylor (+ her husband Josh, too) so much. They have taught me (just by living their lives) the importance of letting all of our emotions and experiences exist and be visible. To be heard. There is no healing, comfort, or community without being open and honest with ourselves and with those closest to us.
Advocating for what you need to feel safe is not a burden. It is the best thing you can do for you and your family.
As a photographer and doula, especially in this niche (pregnancy, birth, bereavement, family), who you invite into your space is so vulnerable and sacred. It is an incredible honor to know and love them.
