Our Approach
We’re the leading birth professionals in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the greater Twin Cities. Our unique birth support and documentation approach was the first of its kind in our community. The Gather Birth team offers a thoughtful array of services designed for families: birth doula support, birth photography and videography, postpartum doula support, lactation support, and more.
One-on-one support.
We’re a team of experts, but that doesn’t mean your support is luck-of-the-draw. We match each client with a Gather Birth doula or birth photographer who meets your needs and aligns with your family’s unique personality. You receive dedicated back-up from within the Gather Birth team, meaning you’ll feel confident knowing your support understands your goals and perspective.
Emphasis on expertise.
Expecting and new families have a lot of needs; our hope is to keep all of your support in-house to make your life easier. The Gather Birth team’s knowledge spans every topic from birth to babies. When we say experts, we mean it. Our team members hold the highest certifications and trainings in topics ranging from lactation to infant sleep and more. We’re leaders and change-makers in the Minneapolis, St. Paul, and greater Twin Cities birth community.
We read the room.
When you’ve worked in birth and postpartum as long as we have, it would be easy to have a “bag of tricks” to lean on. The Gather Birth team’s driving motto is “read the room.” We know every family, birth, and postpartum experience have their own story, unfolding in unique ways. Our team prides ourself on expertly balancing communicating with the rest of your team, advocating for you, and adjusting our approach on the fly to suite your needs.
Commitment to equity.
Our team firmly believes birth work should be rooted in social justice and active participation in dismantling supremacist systems. We are committed to serving the entire community. We’re LGBTIA+ affirming and a Transgender-safe space. We believe in continued work in anti-racism, using our platform to provide mutual aid, and knowing how to provide or refer to culturally competent care. Better birth outcomes demand a birth team committed to supporting and advocating for every birthing person.
