Postpartum Doula Support: The Bittersweet End to a Cherished Postpartum Time

One of the sweetest things about Postpartum Doula Support are the relationships we build with our clients. We get to sit with you in all of the vulnerability of this complex, constantly evolving new stage of your lives. We partner with you to make a plan that supports you in all of the ways you need it most. This allows you to do the most important work: healing and bonding with your baby. Over time, we get to witness the most beautiful evolution of confidence and peace. We get to witness as you settle into routines as a new family and feel confident in your abilities to navigate future challenges. When it’s time to say our bittersweet goodbye as your postpartum support team, we genuinely feel so torn. On the one hand, we’re so sad to lose this intimate time with you and your family every week. On the other hand, we’re absolutely beaming with joy, reflecting on all that you’ve been through and all that you’ve become.

One of the multiple benefits of booking one of the Postpartum Support packages we offer with Gather Birth Cooperative’s team of doulas, photographers, and lactation professionals is that we include bespoke portraiture in each postpartum package. Along with the postpartum meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other bits of gentle guidance that come with our postpartum support packages, these intimate, in-home portraits are a way for us to support our clients in the Twin Cities metro area through this transformative stage of life and preserve some of the fleeting moments of the early days with a new baby.
