Birth work is social justice.

Gather Birth Cooperative has always and will always believe it’s our responsibility to support the community we’re a part of. Part of our mission includes annual mutual aid goals to help the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and other members of the Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Greater Twin Cities thrive.

Mutual Aid Mission

  • No-cost services

Our team believes there shouldn’t be a cap on no-cost services. We aim to provide complimentary Bereavement Photography, as well as free birth photography to BIPOC families birthing at Roots Birth Center. Our goal is to increase the number of families who are aware of these services every year.

  • Mentorship

The Gather Birth team strives to use our collective decades of experience to support other birth workers in the community. We offer no-cost brainstorming sessions, headshots, and other business support to BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ birth workers.

  • Dollars

We know that money directed to the right non-profits and businesses can be the biggest impact we make in our community. We aim to donate at least $1000 every year, with the hopes of being able to do more.
