Friday Finds: fireside cooking, Amanda Gorman's inauguration poem, recipes, and more!
What a week. Between the heaviness of MLK Day and the uncertainty leading up to a delightfully uneventful Inauguration Day, Friday couldn’t come soon enough. When I wasn’t tidying up the house in anticipation of putting more paint on the walls, I spent some time clicking around the internet gathering these links for you. Enjoy!
This is a long read, and it’s oh-so-worth the time. “A year and a half had passed since I had picked up his book in my office, and this was where it had taken me: Tom Hanks was willing to read The Dutch House.”
Amanda Gorman, the young poet who spoke at Biden’s inauguration, is incredible.
This list of perfectly durable tools for cooking over a campfire has me ready for more cookouts!
These two recipes, via Wit and Delight, have me excited to plan out next week’s meals! Coconut Rice with Brussels Sprouts, and a Cheesy Sausage Bake!
What steps are you taking to build bridges between communities?
“President-elect Joe Biden is nominating Pennsylvania health expert Dr. Rachel Levine to be assistant secretary for health in the department of Health and Human Services, in a move that could make Levine the first openly transgender federal official to win Senate confirmation.”
We’re hoping to spend some time outside this weekend. Maybe we’ll make the trek to these epic looking XC ski trails! What are your plans for the next few days?
