Birth documentation: Gather Birth Cooperative

The Gather Birth team has been a part of the Minneapolis, St. Paul, and greater Twin Cities birth community for a while. If working as birth doulas and birth photographers for almost a decade has taught us anything, it’s to stay on our toes. Birth has a way or regularly impressing you and humbling you.

This amazing family hired us to document the birth of their third baby, and this birth was full of surprises.

This surprise sex reveal added another girl to a family of daughters. Rather than coming before their due date like their siblings before them, this baby decided to wait until after. Despite a surprisingly snowless Minnesota winter, this little one waited until the largest snow storm of the year. And this speedy baby decided to arrive right after their parents made it to the hospital. This was especially surprising, because their older sister didn’t even bother to wait until the hospital.

This baby had a pile of surprises for their parents and grandmother, their team of nurses and midwives, their doula, and their birth photographer.

What isn’t surprising? How loved this sweet baby is already.

Welcome to the world, sweet Eddie! We are so glad you’re here.
