Postpartum Support: A Photo Collection Celebrating Dad Returning Home and End of Postpartum Doula Support

The whole family, in one place again.

Families partner with us for postpartum doula support for a variety of reasons. This family chose our longest support package because the partner needed to travel overseas for work within a few weeks of baby’s arrival. Each postpartum shift, we spent time processing current challenges and prioritizing her needs for the day and for future visits. Our support for this family included individualized lactation and bottle feeding support, infant sleep support, preparing meals and snacks, household cleaning, and newborn care. When you hire Gather Birth, you’re hiring a team of experts. Each of us with our varied expertise got to support this family to feel more confident navigating parenting in the newborn stage.

As a team of professional photographers, we are passionate about the addition of high quality documentary photography included in each of our postpartum support packages. For some families, we take a handful of images at each postpartum visit. For this family, it was more meaningful to plan for photos after the partner had returned home. It felt like the sweetest way to end care with this family. Celebrating their sacrifices and love for one another.
