Born at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota | A Preview of a Dream-Come-True Birth in Photographs
She got the birth of her dreams.
This was her fourth birth- first two with epidurals, third was unmedicated, and now this last one she chose the version of birth that felt best to her. She chose an epidural for the birth of their final baby.
With her first two (epidural) births, she had great experiences. With her third, she decided to try unmedicated out of curiosity to see how it compared to her previous births. There were aspects of all of her births that she genuinely loved. The one thing she did not like about her unmedicated birth, was that she felt out-of-body for the immediate after birth/initial postpartum time. She didn’t feel like she remembered taking in all of those first snuggles and details of her third baby, and with her first two- she did. She missed and yearned for how those moments felt.
This birth she wanted (and got!) it all- to feel fully present with her baby and her husband as they welcomed their final baby.
And to have it documented in photographs and film to cherish this special time forever.
I am so over the moon for this family and dear friend.
