Brittany Geisen

she/her

birth doula, birth photographer and filmmaker, IBCLC, postpartum doula, infant massage therapist

I’ve had a passion for photography ever since I was a little girl with a disposable camera.  I started immersing myself in the birth space shortly after the birth of my first child.  It was truly a life changing experience.  I’ve held many titles surrounding birth such as, NICU and postpartum nurse, birth assistant at a local birth center, birth photographer, birth doula, and IBCLC.  I love teaching small lactation/infant feeding classes virtually and in-person on an as needed basis.  I’ve also volunteered photography sessions for NICU families and families experiencing the loss of a child.

My purpose as a photographer is simple.  I want you and the people in your life to feel valued and loved.  As a doula my goal is to support you and your family in ways that are meaningful to you.  I’m a good listener and am perceptive to birthing family’s needs.  As a lactation consultant, my goal is to meet you and your baby where you’re at and support your unique goals.  I love providing in-home lactation/feeding support- it’s where you feel comfortable and where your physical and emotional supports are.  I strive to help you feel confident feeding and caring for your baby.

When I’m not behind the camera/in the birth space, I’m most likely cuddling with my husband, two sons, and fur baby in our cute little South Minneapolis tudor home.  My biggest love language is quality time.  I thrive in community with others, especially others navigating parenthood.  My physical happy place is anywhere near Lake Superior.  My activity of choice is a good hike and deep conversation with people that are close to me.

Like each one of the other members of Gather Birth, I’m fully committed to a lifetime of learning and growth to ensure that my support is LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma informed and rooted in anti-racism.
